The Healthy Human Development Table Presents: Perinatal Depression – Prevention and Treatment

Are you interested in improving children’s developmental trajectories? There is strong evidence to show that the mental health of parents can significantly affect child development outcomes during the first years of life and extending into adolescence. Public Health Ontario and the Healthy Human Development (HHD) Table invite you to a presentation about the burden of perinatal mood disorders in Ontario and itsimpact on early child development. Dr.Cindy-Lee Dennis will also discuss evidence based prevention and treatment options for perinatal mood disorders that have been evaluated in the province.

Presenters: Dr. Cindy-Lee Dennis and Dr. Andrea Feller

Dr. Dennis co-chairs the HHD Table and is a professor and researcher at the University of Toronto and Women’s College Research Institute. Her current area of focus is the perinatal mental health of both mothers and fathers, and the impact on child development.

Dr. Feller also co-chairs the HHD Table. As the Associate Medical Officer of Health (AMOH) at Niagara Region Public Health department she concentrates her efforts in the areas of chronic disease and injury prevention and family health.
